My bodywork takes an integrative approach that facilitates the body’s self-healing ability to restore and heal towards optimal health by using touch, breath, movement and sound. My primary modalities are Craniosacral Therapy and VMI Bodywork. These will be seamlessly combined in a treatment for your best benefit. The work generally takes place on a couch fully dressed. A session lasts about an hour.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet profound hands-on treatment evolved from osteopathy. A practitioner attunes to subtle motions, flows and qualities within any part of the body in relation to the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), cerebrospinal fluid, and the membrane in and between the cranium and the sacrum. The body tissue that holds some issues tends to show restrictions. Physical restrictions may be simply due to an injury although often underneath hide emotions that have not been processed fully enough for subconscious reasons. Craniosacral Therapy facilitates these processes to be carried in a safe supported way, so that a person can nurture one’s own potential with integrity. Craniosacral Therapy is suitable for everyone from newborns to the elderly, as It is very gentle and non-invasive. Please find more about Craniosacral Therapy at The Craniosacral Therapy Association.
I am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST) with Craniosacral Therapy Association, trained at College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy.
Vital Movement Integration (VMI) bodywork is an integrative therapeutic method, established in 1992 by Patricia Bardi, a somatic movement therapy pioneer. It is a combination of manual therapy techniques (including Craniosacral Therapy) and movement re-education. The aim is to foster a new sense of mobility and vitality by reorganising the imbalances and harmonising the functional relationship between the skeletal structure, neuromuscular system, organs and hormones. The gentle bodywork treats pain, discomforts and imbalances within the body-mind-emotion connectivity.
I studied with Patricia Bardi in Amsterdam, certified as a VMI Somatic Practitioner. Registered Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist (RSME & RSMT) with ISMETA.
Both methods take you to a deep state where self-healing process and recuperation for homeostatic inner balance can occur. It is highly recommended to take things easy after a treatment for 1-3 days in order to allow the body-mind to continue processing and settle.
I have so far successfully worked with persons with following conditions; anxiety, depression, emotional problems, exhaustion, chronic fatigue, stress-related condition, insomnia, trauma, headaches and migraines, sinusitis, face pain, TMJ jaw disorders, neck pain, digestive problems, perimenopause, menstrual pain and disorders, back pain, bone/ joint disorders, arthritis, muscular aches and sprain, scoliosis, post operation, autism, learning difficulty and more…

What people say about my Craniosacral work
Katsura has a natural ability to engage with the cranio-sacral process. – CCST
Katsura have something very clear to offer in her approach to holding space and connecting directly with a person. – R.S.
After my treatment I have felt so relaxed and more in touch with my body. Not just in a spiritual way but also physically. I would very much recommend Katsura if you have a long standing injury that needs extra encouragement to finally heal. – H.C.
Having not tried Craniosacral Therapy before, I didn’t know what to expect. Since Katsura has been my Pilate instructor for several years, I know I can trust her. Treatment sessions with Katsura were surreal, but calming experience. After each session, I felt better. I now have an under laying happiness that I have never felt before. Katsura has this rare gift of understanding and feeling without your explanation, which is quite extraordinary. I will definitely recommend her treatments if you are not feeling quite yourself. – S.P.
