Katsura Isobe
MA, MSMT, RCST

I am a Somatic practitioner specialising in dance, movement, Craniosacral Therapy and Pilates. My journey into the body for the soul started at the age of 14 in dance, where I have eventually grown to work professionally for over three decades. It took me from my origin, Tokyo, to my current location, London. I continue the journey into the depth and wonder of our bodymindsoul.
I have always loved movement. In my childhood, before I got hooked on dance, I used to swim and run. To enhance my dance performance, I learnt Pilates and yoga. When I decided to go my own way in dance, I took up Aikido. Lately, in my middle age, I have been attending to subtle movements within the body. I have discovered the profoundness of pausing and being still. My current personal practice includes Authentic Movement, Aikido, and consciously living every day.
From the large waves of the arm to breathing and heartbeat, our bodies are always moving as the expression of our lives. I feel so dear to attend to others’ expressions and feel nurtured to experience my own. Our bodies express our feelings, emotions, memories, histories, ancestors, imaginations and dreams.
In my work, I intend to offer a space for others to connect with these materials that lie within themselves, and to help them carry these forward.
