These workshops are open to all levels, from experienced Authentic Movement practitioners to those new to this practice.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
Mary Oliver
love what it loves.
I often return to these words by Mary Oliver because they really help us set our tone for the Authentic Movement practice. Come as you are. In these workshops, the space will be carefully held for you to explore your moving body, particularly:
What moves you?
What sensations, feelings, emotions or images do you notice as you move?
How do you sustain your attention to your inner experiences?
How do you translate your bodily experience into drawing, writing or speaking?
How do you feel when you receive witnessing?
If you are new to this practice, it is helpful to have some experience in somatic or contemplative practices. By its nature, the Authentic Movement practice requires self-directed moving/being, speaking/listening and learning, all contained within a clear framework. I would strongly recommend attending both dates if you are new, to get a little glimpse of this deep practice that could become a lifelong enquiry. Read more about Authentic Movement
